472 CID cadillac engine into a 1965 Chevy C10?

I have no doubts that this conversion can be done BUT;

- is it good the effort?
- any performance parts?

The truck currently has a fresh (year unknown) 327 with a 4 speed manual and is habituated to to tow a ski boat.

The 472 is from a 1970 Cadillac de Ville and only has 52,000 miles on it. Car was totalled.
-Joe- Tranny might be a refractory. Suspect it may be cracked. Will know better when we get it out. As I stated, car is write-off and to say it's bent would be an understatement.


Conversion would line as long as you also use Caddy trans . You will just have to get drive shaft adapted . You can forget performance parts as there precisely aren't any to mount to much . It would still be one heck of a towing combo as the caddy engine definitely has the torque . They well-founded will not RPM .

Full Size Chevy G10 Van on a Chevy 4X4 pickup chassy?

I have a 1987 G10 Sportvan with a stunted wheel base. The frame is rusted and rather than repair, I thought it may be worth investing the money in getting it converting it to a 4x4. Would be easier to fettle frame then add 4x4 parts or can I simply put body of van on Chev truck chassy? I know the engine and tranny location of the van may be a reference to? Is it doable? How?

350 has slight miss, need help chevy guys?

Its approachable of hard to explain what its doing, its a 84 chevy 350 four speed. Its summer time here so its warm in the morning, when i take off down the means it cuts out until over 2,000 rpm and its warmed up. once its been runnin, and gets up to speed the miss it shakes the truck and each miss is liek a popping sturdy, but the werid part is it still seems to run fine, just that slight miss. any ideas?

What lights should I use for my light bar on my truck?

I've been doing modifications to my 09 Chevy 1500 Texas number crew cab, chromed out (black). I found a good bar to put up on the bed side to have the lights above the cab, but I'm stuck on what kind? I'm looking for Super Clever, great for off-road, I need to see as much and as far as i can while im out in open land, and while im going through the brush and trails. Any suggestions? I will be needing 4 lights. If you have any additional things to allocate that you think would "look good" for this truck, please share :) im on a shopping spree for parts.

what motor mounts will fit a 91 s-10 to a 350?

i have a '91 chevy s-10 p/u, it had a 2.5L 4 cyl......

i am putting in a 350. the 350 has the mechanism side mounts.

so, to be clear, i am NOT looking to buy a prefab specialty s-10 v8 conversion motor mount .... why wasteland the extra money for a part i can get at autozone??

if nothing else i will end up going to autozone and buying motor mounts for a variety of chevy vehicles that could hold good 350's and choose the one that fits my frame the best. same thing those s10 to v8 bastards did, just they renamed it to a 'dear' s10 to v8 motor mount to sell it at a higher price.

for any interested. i gotta 91 chevy s-10 p/u. i have the 350 outline and will be getting a t-56 tranny to bolt to it. will be doing many other upgrades over time.


Your not gonna find a mount for a review car that will come close to a 'bolt on' install for a v8 s10.

The stock engine mount location on the K member sits too far rearward. The 4cyl and v6 is shorter than a v8 so the motor was placed more towards firewall.

No room on K member to move mounts foward enough to fit a v8 engine in the bay.

The conversion mounts are a fab'ed lamina that bolts to stock holes in K member, but has the bracket tabs for the clamshell mounts offset to the front. (out in front of the K associate)

You could weld up your own out of 1/4" plate steel, drill your own holes, etc, or weld plate to a works mount, but you WILL NOT find a stock off the shelf mount thats gonna work for you

Plus look at it this away, auto zone mounts will run you about $20-26..

A set of the power mounts for a v8 s10 will run you about $55 to $65 on avg. Some alittle higher

6.2 diesel help '84 ton and1/4 chevy?

im looking at getting a 84 chevy ton and 1/4 free wheel truck was ex military. it has 146000 miles. im new to the diesel world can any ony help me with the pro and cons of this truck. its a daily spin with a snow plow thats all. is there any after market parts to help
sorry i did leave some info outit is an inevitable th400. and a 24 volt starter. what do i need to change the motor over to 12 volt i cant find info on it. injector electrify is orginal. all is stock except wheeland tires and plow. thanks for all the help
