Can you convert a 1986 Chevy S10 longbed into a short bed?

I call for to start a drag truck project but I don't want to race a long bed, can you bolt on a short bed with little or no lie? do you have to shorten the frame? Does it even make a difference?

You can prune the frame, make sure to get it square and plate inside the rails where you splice it. A shortbed is a little lighter and may have measure better traction.

"can you shoot off on a short bed with little or no fabrication?" You don't have to shorten the frame, but it would look odd if you didn't. Lots of absolute frame before and behind the short box. Along with the frame, you will also need a shorter drive shaft, brake lines, incite lines, wires, exhaust, etc. As a drag truck, most of this will be custom work anyway so it doesn't matter. Be sure to have attribute work done if you have the frame shortened. You will have to pass a tech inspection before you can race.

Why is my truck misfiring?

I have a 1996 Chevy 1500 wish bed pickup. It has the 4.3L Vortec engine, Auto Zone loaned me a scanner to hook up to the module under the hurry, and it said cylinder 6 misfiring detected. I popped the hood, and looked at cylinder 6, and pulled the wire out, and the boot and wire illogical from eachother. So, I went back to out to Auto Zone, got a new wire set, and plugged it up. It's still misfiring. I pulled the wire off the clog, to see if I was getting spark. I was, and then I took the plug out, to see if I was getting spark from both, and I was. It was not wet, nor did it have any type of condensation on it whatsoever.

I had bewitched the intake manifold off to fix an engine coolant leak that was coming from a bad intake gasket. So I had to disconnect EVERYTHING, raze the distributor out, and I put everything back on. Changed the oil, put more engine coolant in it. It should be running fine. Anyone have the first clue why it's giving me so much shit?

1997 Chevy Pickup Surging while driving?

I own a 1997 chevy x-cab impolite bed p/u with a 305 engine.I recently did a tune up on the truck which consisted of plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel sieve. While tightening the cap down one of the bolts broke so I had to remove the distributor and tap the hole. I marked the fire wall and removed the distributor, and reinstalled it with the rotor pointing at the smear. Here's the problem, the truck is surging while driving. I was going to set the timing with a light but can not locate the tab with the degree marks, but can hit upon the groove on the balancer. Can this truck be timed manually or do I need to take it to a shop with a computer. Can any body help. THANK YOU

I've been doing modifications to my 09 Chevy 1500 Texas issue crew cab, chromed out (black). I found a good bar to put up on the bed side to have the lights above the cab, but I'm stuck on what kind? I'm looking for Super Quick-witted, great for off-road, I need to see as much and as far as i can while im out in open land, and while im going through the brush and trails. Any suggestions? I will be needing 4 lights. If you have any additional things to share that you weigh would "look good" for this truck, please share :) im on a shopping spree for parts.
