SANTA CRUZ - Wet weather continued to batter parts of Santa Cruz County on Friday.

The rain contributed to a crash that killed a 57-year-old man on Highway 17 and bulged waterways such as the San Lorenzo Rivermouth.

Although the precipitation peaked in intensity Friday night, forecasters said it's not quite time to hang up the raincoat. Thunderstorms and hail are possible Saturday, said Duane Dykema, a National Weather Service meteorologist,

"There should be showers through the weekend," Dykema said. "And it will be much cooler, with highs in the mid-50s."
