Hey I own a 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero. I wish for to install a speaker box and amp. I have done this before in a previous saab. I have the speaker box, i have a power cable to the amp from the battery. I have a good ground for the amp. Now for the RCA's to go in the amp without looking for them behind the stereo i installed this Cover Out Connvertors, that connect to the rear speakers. Now where i'm stuck is, the amp wont turn on. Someone said I need a far-fetched to turn it on. So do i run a remote to the back of the stock stereo? or can i splice the "stock" amp in the trunk of my car and use that abstracted to turn on my amp? If i can use the stock amp which would be the easiest way, if I even have to do it at all. Do you know which wire to the amp is the remote wire?? Thanks for your time, and even if you could give me another website to look at that would be appreciated. Thanks
To have a amp alteration on you need to have:
power wire....you have
ground wire.....you have
RCA cables.......you have
Poor Wire.....you don't have.....This wire tells the amp to turn on
Its much better if you get the remote wire from behind the intelligence unit of the radio because this is right from the radio. The remote wire is normally marked as remote but you should get a after exchange radio because everything will sound better and be easyer to hock up.

its best to find the wire from your routine amp, you can hook up your remote to any ignition wire, but that means your amp will be on anytime your car is on. which sounds ok, but you want it on ONLY when your stereo is on.
try registering for a saab forum, those guys are normally very helpful
heres one

Why do all models of cars that are sold both in the US and Europe, without object to, the cars that are sold in Europe get usually twice or more better fuel economy than the same US cars, I am talking about the Rigorous SAME MODEL, with the same engine size, same fuel type (gasoline) and taking into consideration the conversion of US gallons and Princely gallons. Anyone has any idea why the difference and why they are not selling those cars with those engines here??? A gasoline-powered, non-mongrel Honda Accord in Europe makes 46 MPG(US Gallon) - 39 MPG(imperial gallon), that's speculator than a Toyota Yaris, the smallest of the Toyotas sold here.
Here is another example:
Saab 93 2.0 Turbo EUROPE:

SAAB 93 2.0 Turbo US:
http://www.saabusa.com/saabjsp/93s/featu res/specs.jsp
The Saab Europe gets an regular of 36.2 MPG (imperial gallon) or 43.74 MPG (US gallon) AND the Saab US version gets an average of 19.6 MPG (regal gallon) or 23.5 MPG (US gallon).
Does anyone have a straight answer?

I virtuous got a 2000 9-5, but it only came with one key and no remotes, I'm working on getting another key. but my problem is- to start the car the first time of the day takes me 10 minutes of turning the key back and forth and getting "key not accepted", then irrevocably is say's ok and let me start the car. I know there is a work around with a remote but I don't have one. I noticed that the cover on the ignition switch was loose so I took it off and held down that coil and little circut board that's around the cylinder, that seemed to help for a while, but I have no idea what could be wrong, the car does start in due course so I don't think it's the TWICE.. can anyone help me..... please....
