If it has a turbo charger, it must be de-tuned to undergo California regulations, believe it or not. Mostly this is because it will hit the states in California, no real choice about that. It also needs to have its emissions tested and adjusted to fit California standards. You would think that federal standards would be fine, but California won't have it. How they can set policy for the entire provinces is beyond me, but they do. If the vehicle does not have these systems, they must be installed, at your expense. This is mainly why super-hot Japanese bikes are not imported to bed in America, because any gains in speed and acceleration are killed by the regulations to make it legal to operate in the states. I looked into intriguing my Skyline that I bought in Okinawa back to the states with me, but once I learned what it entailed, I sold it to a friend and forgot about it. If you don't mind spending the rolling in it, then do so, but just keep in mind that it won't be the same car once you have it on the road in the states. If the steering wheel is on the right hand side of the vehicle, as mine was, you have an clearly different set of problems.
I'm having a short bit of trouble figuring out which car i should buy... the supra is my absolute favourite car especially the 93 and up cars but there winsome expensive but the skyline is much cheaper and just as sick of a car... so i was wondering if anyone knew what would probably be a better choice.. decent say i wanted a supra 93 2jz engine, turbo or an r32 gtr type of deal... don't get to worked up about the poop just your general opinion on which is a better car to choose.... thanks for helping me out :)

Kaizo-Owned Nissan Skyline GT-R Impounded in San Diego ...
Before the R35 Nissan GT-R is released, we published an article on how to buy a Japanese-spec Skyline R34 GT-R. In this paper, we've talked Kaizo Industries, which currently manufactures Skyline GT-R shell company to encourage Sphere of Influence of Transportation (DOT)-compliant before they are exported here. In addition, and importantly, the machinery, shipping and differerentials are removed at that time, so that ships cars as only one element of the car rather than a whole car - and is therefore legal to push U.S. law.
However, earlier this week, we ran through a strict division of the Attorney narrowly clearly addressed to a P a Kaizo imported GT-R suggesting that the car in no doubt "may not be compliant and federal environmental protection, in which invalid "it may not be operated on the streets clear" and may be "Crush on requisition and confiscation by U.S. authorities....
