Nissan Skyline GTR R33 Importation question?

I separate that you can import a nissan skyline gtr r33 1996- 1998, into the US, but what exactly do you have to do to make it legal?
on the DMV website it said that any GTR GTS R33 can be imported from january 1996- 1998, but im quite sure you have to make some changes to the car to make it legal anyone know the exact things you have to do , plus where i fare you dont need to change the steering wheel , so what else do i have to do ?

If it has a turbo charger, it must be de-tuned to touch California regulations, believe it or not. Mostly this is because it will hit the states in California, no real choice about that. It also needs to have its emissions tested and adjusted to partnership California standards. You would think that federal standards would be fine, but California won't have it. How they can set policy for the entire nation is beyond me, but they do. If the vehicle does not have these systems, they must be installed, at your expense. This is mainly why super-hot Japanese bikes are not imported to speed in America, because any gains in speed and acceleration are killed by the regulations to make it legal to operate in the states. I looked into alluring my Skyline that I bought in Okinawa back to the states with me, but once I learned what it entailed, I sold it to a friend and forgot about it. If you don't mind spending the pelf, then do so, but just keep in mind that it won't be the same car once you have it on the road in the states. If the steering wheel is on the right hand side of the vehicle, as mine was, you have an from A to Z different set of problems.

Toyota Supra or Nissan Skyline?

I'm having a wee bit of trouble figuring out which car i should buy... the supra is my absolute favourite car especially the 93 and up cars but there mignonne expensive but the skyline is much cheaper and just as sick of a car... so i was wondering if anyone knew what would probably be a better alternative.. just say i wanted a supra 93 2jz engine,turbo or an r32 gtr type of deal... don't get to worked up about the tidings just your general opinion on which is a better car to choose.... thanks for helping me out :)

Seems now more than ever, people destitution the Nissan Skyline...
Im assuming for the whole F&F craze...lol

The best part of the car is the motor... i consider the rest of the car crap... IMO...

Im construction a 240sx powered rb26dett soon.. waiting for the damn motor to come.. 2 more months... criticize customs

Argeeded that the silvias body is better...its more sleek...
i believe the skyline is a rolling tank compared to the silvias.. weight wise ;p

again its my own opinion... ive driven them before at motorex before they were closed down... i didnt find anything suprising. I been modding my cars and have a contemplate car going now...

For those of you who dont be acquainted with what Motorex was, it was a company that used to import skylines to california... they stopped back in 2005 i suppose...
I was fortunate enough to drive one...

Its a subconscious thing. Just like when you are a kid, and you mother told you that you can't have that new candy, you don't know or haven't had it, but you want it.

Objective like drugs and all that other stuff that the Government has said 'no' to, makes people want it more.

I agree that the Skyline is exactly overrated for its class. If the older Skylines had been released in the states, it would have been just a regular sports car.

ok im looking at a car, the nissan skyline r34 as my first car. but the only ones i can supply (assuming the dollar/pound ratio stays steady) are in europe. so i want to ship it abroad, but i heard the united states has some ridiculous law that forbids any cars being shiped over seas must be at least 15 years old.

1. is this a verified law?

2. if so how can i ship my car privately over seas?
