1995 Nissan Maxima smoking badly?

When I was driving my mam's 1995 Nissan Maxima up the hill, I smelled a strong burning smell but since I was a block from home, I continued to high-pressure it. When I got home, I saw smoke rising from under the hood and then popped it. Smoke billowed out from the front and the back of the engine. At first I thought no oil but the oil was WAY too full, the whole dipstick was covered. Coolant, ATF unsettled everything was fine and when I let it idle to see if it did it again, it did not. It's an auto and the temperature was normal the whole way home, around 10-13 miles. The power steering or slacken fluid (it's next to the coolant tank) I don't know which one it is thought but it was bubbling. Any help?

I have a Nissan Maxima 2000 immovable shift! I want to change the transmission and I want to replace it myself instead of having someone else to fix it. Does anyone skilled in how to change it with a source???

My check engine light came on, have 2000 Nissan Maxima SE, standard. Diagnostic says PNP switch.?

The diagnostic stamp off I got from the auto shop says:

Troubleshooting p1706
Definition: BBPark/Neutral position (PNP) switch.

I found some low-down on http://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/obd_codes/ p1706.htm

it says:

DTC: P1706

Trouble diagnosis name: Park/washed out position switch

Component Description

When the gear position is “P” (A/T models only) or “N”, reservation/neutral position (PNP) switch is “ON”. ECM detects the position because the continuity of the line (the “ON” signal) exists.

DTC detecting term:

•The signal of the park/neutral position (PNP) switch is not changed in the process of engine starting and driving.
Admissible cause:

•Harness or connectors [The park/neutral position (PNP) switch circuit is open or shorted.]
•Greens/neutral position (PNP) switch

but I'm not sure what it means, but I have not noticed my car running weird, or bad as far as I can tell. Can someone please commandeer?

Is it possible to install 2009 nissan maxima tail lights in a 2004 maxima?

No. Look at and bear the two pictures (see link). The 2009 has tail lights which are much longer than in previous years. You simply would not be skilful to fit it on the 2004 without doing extensive sheet metal fabrication to open up the hole, which would probably be more up-market than it's worth.

Though that would look pretty badass if possible.

The locomotive would not start without pumping the accelerator. The check engine light is on. The TCS is switched to on but the light says it is off. Undeniable something is wrong with the TCS but what would cause the engine to not want to start and struggle when driving? I checked the wheel and axle and there is no manifest damage. After driving the lights remained on.
