I have a 2004 S430 Mercedes . When I start my car it runs fo 10 to 15 Min's.And then the car shuts down.?
the next day i start the car and the samething happens again . I went to a car mend shop and he told my that it is a temperture sensor. Does that sounds correct or could it be some thing different ?
nope, that sounds about make up for. if you're concerned about your car randomly shutting off you can remove the thermostat until you can afford to have it fixed, but be sure that it's the thermostat, and not your motor overheating. there could also be a problem with your radiator or the coolant line.
Scrutinize your fuel pump and fuel pump relay. they might causing your car to shutdown every 10 to 15 mins. Coins your fuel filter, it might be clogging with dirt, blocking the fuel. Hope this helps!
what they said could be honestly there are 3 ways to fix it and in order
1st find out why it senses hot and fix it
2nd disconnect the sensor it should be in the thermostat housing where the top radiator hose comes to the apparatus only do this if you are sure the engine isn't overheating
3rd remove the thermostat but not for a permanent fix just temporary
you may well find the sensor is broken to replace it is easy and not worth a lot maybe 30-40$ por the part
another one worth trying is turn the aircon off don't ask me why i don't recognize but it worked on my friends 420se check out my question regarding a 420se with the same problem as yours

Not saying that it's unsolvable for it to be the temp sensor, but I personally have never seen that. The more likely cause would be the crankshaft position sensor. These sensors go up in smoke all the time and will cause your vehicle to stall and not want to start back up for a period of time. I would look there first.
