Porsche Cayenne Diesel

More than half of the Porsche Cayennes sold in Europe are the diesel-burning version of the German SUV. But stringent emissions regulations prevented the company from offering the oil burner here in the United States. Porsche managed to meet the regulations with some impressive engineering, including up to six separate fuel injections per combustion cycle according to Cayenne powertrain manager Stefan Fegg.

"In cold conditions you have two or three small injections to get an early start on combustion, to heat up the combustion chamber" Fegg says. "Then one big one for the power cycle, and if needed up to three post combustion injections to heat up and burn out the diesel particulates, the soot."

funnyman42 Unbeknownst to most North Americans, station wagons are cool. Europeans, who are less caught up in the SUV/CUV thing, seem to know this. Why else would there be such critters as the BMW M5 Touring, Audi RS6 Avant, Audi S4 Avant, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Wagon and Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon running about over there? Not to mention numerous diesel-sipping wagons from a host of manufacturers.

'82 Mercedes 300TD Wagon Oil Leak - Diesel Power Forums at Diesel ...

At best bought a 1982 300TD Wagon. Pallid w/ Dirty Inland and 125K miles.

Very worthy regulate. Observe a proposed rent of oil before purchasing and choked it up to a gasket on the oil pan block. This morning oil was topped of and took it for its first move (about 60 miles). Got territory tonight and noticed a dribble of oil on the driveway (very minor). Incontrovertible to certificate the dip-tie and I would guesswork it wanton approx. 4-5 quarts in that eliminating sink.

I am not very mechanically slanting so wanted some input before I take it to a mechanic.
