Hi, i have a 2000 ford mustang v6 conditioned transmission, it has about 89000 miles. The problem is that whenever im driving it feels like like the car doesn't exchange gears. ill be going 40 to 50 mph and the rpm is at about 3500. Is that the normal rpm range? Then when i try to go faster the rpm reaches 4000 rpm and then it wont go background that. once i hit 4000rpm it feels like the engine is faltering. Sometimes the car works perfectly fine and other times the car gives me this difficult. Also the check engine light doesnt come on. Also some one told me the engine faltering at 4000 rpm could be the rev limiter. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!
your overdrive may be turned off. if there isn't an orange simplification on your dash saying so, it may be out. I would try driving the car and pushing the overdrive button. it should be on the gear selector.

It's in all likelihood not your transmission.
If it WERE your transmission, you wouldn't be able to do anything over 20 mph and the RPM would max out at 8000 and you will still do something less than 20.

thats an electronic hornet's nest like a sensor or chip take it to a dealer that is trusted and have them put it on a diagnostic machine beleive me its well worth it

if you manually swerve it thru the gears does it shift..like start in low, then second, then drive..and yes it could be rev limiter that is causing your car to falter at that rpm..if it shifts manually then its a sensor incarcerated trans thats not letting it pass through the gears..

Substantiation your tranny fluid. That's the first step.
Second, change your tranny filter, gasket, fluid.
If you swop it, add some Lucas Transmission Fluid Conitioner for new fluid. You can find it at Autozone.

For some of you who don't exceptionally know Saleen, Saleen is to Ford as RUF is to Porsche.
Saleen is a independent company and is not owned by Ford.
People look at the facing and (based on it's appearance) automatically say "Its a Ford Mustang".
However, the only thing the Saleen cars themselves has in common with the Ford Mustang is cosmetic parts. Underneath that
cosmetic façade is All Saleen about parts. There are enough changes made by Saleen to merit the cars as it's
own creation.
Besides most people obviously dont understand the lawful system and who has registered rights to the corresponding vehicle.
Ford has nothing to do with the Saleens(such as the s281e,s302e, and sms), nor does Ford own the rights to the cars. The cars themselves may have started living as a Ford Mustang, however once Saleen is done replacing the vehicles OE mechanical and cosmetic parts, there is very little of Ford (if any) left in the car.
The Saleens is more than a moment ago a copycat Tuner version of the Mustang. Saleen itself is subject to the exact same federal regulations governing automotive mould as GM, Chrysler LLC, Ford and various other manufactures. So as I said earlier, its not a Mustang.
The engines for the S281 Extreme and S302 Exceptional are built in-house under the supervision of Saleen Chief Engineer Neil Hannermann and Machine Department Manager Bill Tally.
keep in mind that the S-Series(S302 and S281)are not mustangs, these cars did start entity as mustangs but when Saleen gets a hold of these vehicles they replace ALL of Fords OE mechanical and cosmetic parts.
The mortal of the S-Series begins, like all Saleen production cars, on the floor of the company's 131,000 square foot alacrity.
The new cars proceeds down Saleen's assembly line. The car is completely gutted from nose to tail. ALL Ford parts are removed:
Ford OE Dissemination and Transmission Assembly Gone. Ford OE Suspension and Chassis, Shocks, Springs, Control Arms Gone.
Ford OE Brakes and Down Assembly Gone. Ford OE Wheels and Tires Gone. Ford OE Engine and Exhaust System Gone.
Ford OE Air Feed System Gone. Ford OE Front Smack Gone. Ford OE Rear Clip and Spoiler Gone. Ford OE Hood Gone.
Ford Factory Fit & Finish Gone. Even the mill Ford color is ... Gone. All Saleens are painted in colors developed by BASF.
The Ford OE Computer Management System is snatched out and replaced by a Particularly Programmed Saleen Computer System. Saleen calls it "PowerFlash".
The engines for the S-Series are built in-theatre under the supervision of Saleen Chief Engineer Neil Hannermann and Engine Department Director Bill Tally.
PLUS, Ford's vin number is gone n replaced by Saleens own vin number.(regardless if the vehicle is still registeres as it's former self)
Also, a FORD dealership cannot call, order, take delivery, sell, repair or perform schedule maintenance on a Saleen product unless Saleen "certifies" the dealership first. A Ford dealership that wants to sell, sell, etc. a Saleen product must
contact Saleen directly to begin the Certification process. It should be notorious that Certification is not easy, it is very demanding for a dealership. Not all Ford dealerships get certified

I was looking at buying the Mustang 2010 dummy, brand new. I was told that the best time to buy a car is in november/december. Currently Ford offers Employee Pricing on all their models. Financing 0% except the Mustang representation.
My question is , will the mustang interest rate change ?
I wasn't really following this before , so i dont know if it's been like this before in the olden times or no one knows...
Because the interest on that vehicule is currently 7.99-8.99%.
Im talking about the official interest rate on ford.ca or .com. they clearly say 0% on all models except the mustang. My query doesnt apply to myself only. But to everyone.

Positive Post of the Day: Ford Blesses Base Mustang with 315HP V6 ...
Toxicroach, we’ll see about that.
The Mustang still looks tame and old sitting next to the Camaro (as does the Corvette). It still drives like an old car too (strung out, jiggly and the axle bumps around in the back condign like my old Large Public, it’s uncommonly bad in corners).
The Mustang also has a neglible rig advantange over the Camaro. Avenue and Seek out weighed their analysis 2010 GT with Ferret out Assembly and it tipped the scales at 3,755lbs. In juxtaposing the Camaro SS owned by LG Execution weighed in at 3,822lbs bone assortment. Not a continuously and day distinction, at all. Though the dynamics of SRA vs IRS confident is. So is almost 100 horsepower and a recently engineered design and league shot vs one Ford stuck in the microwave from years ago (and charges you out the construct for).
