why wont my headlights turn on?
All my other lights m except for both of my headlights. I find it strange that both of the lights would burn out at the same time. Is there any other explanation? would it be expensive to fix?
I drive a 2001 ford focus.

a headlight birch has different prongs inside of it for different lights so if that particular part of your headlight switch went out then its admissible for all the other lights to work but not the headlights same can be said for the taillights and before you go doing anything with that always check the fuses first hope this helps

On an old Chevy or any other instrument it is possible that both headlights would go out at the same time, but in your case a 2001 ford focus. the headlights would not be ran in series like much older vehicle head mild systems were, they are designed now now to run in parallel meaning if one headlight goes out the other works just fine and even your favourable beams work if just your low beam bulb burned out. It's all in safety. your first problem could be is that it's a ford lol but fooling check your fuses, and find a common ground both headlights might share. there should be two fuses for your head lights reading turning point high or head low or something similar

most 2000 and newer vehicles are on correlation series for lighting. There are fuses in most of these circuits protecting each series. the headlights on your car are on they"re own fuse low beam and important beam and sometimes even left to right again check all your fuses to lighting system
