Is it a good idea to buy a fleet lease car?
Hi, I belief about buying 2009 Ford Focus. Carfax say's it is a fleet lease car. Price is 8000 and its has 8000 miles. It has a retrieve title because the engine blew up. A new engine was put into the car. All of the papers are present for the engine including warranty and also the ingenious warranty for the car still exists. Thanks.
Don't buy it.
That deliver title will come back to haunt you when you try to sell it in the future. Not to mention it's a Ford crap so it will have tons of problems.
Together with most insurance companies will not insure salvaged cars. Those that do will charge double.

well, as an individual i quit buying american made cars. consider this. if the ford already had one engine blow up at 8k miles and had to have a new one put in, do you really have that much reliance in the quality? i know that it has a factory warranty but sooner or later that will run out and then you have a car with a salvage title that will seriously devalue the resale.
as far as appraisal check the true value of the car through kbb or edmunds to see what the cost is for one that is not salvaged and consider how long you will keep it and can you afford to take most of a detriment when you get rid if it.

Something's fake here!! A new engine doesn't create a salvage title situation. Who's not telling the truth about an fortuity, flood, etc. Salvage titles can rarely get loans and they are worth about 50% of the value of a clean-designate vehicle. Runaway on this one...Quick!
