2000- 2004 ford f250 diesel truck.?

im looking at buy a traffic between 2000-2004 i want mine to be 4x4 and diesel. ive saw a few trucks. do diesel start that easy in cold weather? can u just put stuff in the fossil tank and it wont gell up? is there a big difference from a 6.0 and a 7.3 liter? ive looked at both. cant deside which to get. i somebody the 7.3 will take more fuel. i dont want that. so i figured i was going to go with a 6.0. but if there isnt a difference at all i would fitting go with the 7.3. how many mpg does the 6.0? how many mpg does the 7.3 get? and for the last question. do these start for the most part in the winter time? thanks for the infomation.
