Unhook the diminish radiator hose, remove the thermostat, and push water thru anywhere it will go. Then button-it all up ( replace 'stat ), fill it with lawful water, run it a short day with heat on, then dump it all again. Fill with 'freeze & water, including the expansion tank, and off you go. Don't undecided the radiator cap, just keep filling the expansion tank, while it works air out.
Advantageously now, i have a 1979 ford f100 with a factory 302. I want to change it to a 351w. What will i need to change to preform this swap? Will the machine mounts be the same? And will the Trans need to be pushed back?

Depends on your intended handling of the engine. The windsor is good from idle to 6000 max, with the big power coming between 2000 and 4500. Clevelands (with their canted-valve, big anchorage heads) make power a bit higher up. Consequently, low end torque suffers. If you are going to tow with this rig go windsor. If you demand to go fast, build the cleveland. Good luck.

Garry says:
I was filthy all weekend but after a while, like on an army maneuver, I just wallowed in it and pressed on with the job at hand.
It wasn’t trenches or desert operations that were the basis of my grubbiness, though. No sir, it was dust and grime that had settled over 14 years in my storage bunker from where I’ve been evicted this month.
After hauling three pick-up truck loads of ‘stuff’ to my basement, garage and backyard storage shed it was time to get to the ‘dead ones’. Some of the cars in storage started and could be driven out like the ’91 Pontiac Firefly, the ’91 GMC Jimmy and the ’95 BMW 540i but no so the last four. Hey, they haven’t been started for up to a decade.
