tips on saving up for a car?

ok so I jsut started considerable school and I have an early birthday (november) so since i'm turning 15, my dad brought up how i'm close to driving age
that got me opinion about saving up for a car since my dad needs his for work and my mom won't let me go near hers lol

so far in my car account I have about $2,000 and i'm planning to take my allowance ($30 a month) and put that into the account.....extra i'm going to ask my friends and family to just give me money for my birthday lol not gift cards just straightforward old money for the car........and that's probably going to come from 4 friends, my 2 aunts & uncles (married), my celibate aunt, and my grandmas and grampa
and who knows? maybe if i can get a part time job somewhere i could make more lol

if i start saving up now, do u weigh I would have enough for a good car? Believe it or not I was on beep beep.com the other day and I found a 2008 BMW M3 for about $10,000!!! lol those are my favorite cars
i'm not saying i'm interested in buying a BMW, or the M3 i was neutral saying if they're advertising a car like that for $10,000 imagine how nice of a car i could get for less! i was thinking of the VW CC u can google it if u want lol

first of all if an 08 bmw is being sold for 10K its either been wrecked or is missing the friggin locomotive. Second of all you should test drive a car befor you drive it. and third of all i would get a part time job and put back at least 2/3s of your check towards a car. good fortuity

08 BMW M3 for 10,000...No way someone is selling a 08 M3 for 10g's. Either it's crashed and virtuous selling it how it is. You need a job, you need help from your parents. Ever thought about how much the insurance is gonna cost of owning an M3 remarkably for your age. BTW a 2008 M3 engine cost more than 10g's by itself. You dreaming too much. Start small

If you're looking for a original newer than 1997 for $3,000-$5,000 then you're probably not too realistic in your thinking.

You probably can't buy a "cool" car or one that you'll weakness for just a couple of thousand. If you like BMW's you could maybe get a 1989 model for $5,000.

Think about investing the pelf you would spend on a car. If you invest $5,000 and keep putting in the amount of money you'd pay on a low car payment monthly (say $200.00)-then by the time you're 25 you'd have without hesitating at $30,000 (counting the $5,000 plus the $24,000).

I would not have taken this advice at your age and more than I think you will-but cars are not good investments-and if you're interested in being loaded-and buying a NEW BMW one day-save up until you can buy one with cash.

Leave behind the BMW,...even if you could find one in that price range, you would need to be able to pay for the maintaince ( expensive) and insurance (even more expensive). together with that's tooo much car for a new driver...

First cars should be cheap, and sturdy, so you can bounce off curbs and trashcans, with out ripping out the hold-up...

drive it for 2 years, save money along the way, buy a 6000.00-10,000.00 car when your 18-20...

You're already very approaching to having enough money for a good first car.

$2500 - $4000 should be plenty of money for a very nice used car that would be appropriate for a young innocent driver. A nice used Civic or a Sentra would be perfect. Maybe a RAV-4 if you like little SUVs.

You can taking the BMWs and the VW CCs. Those are not appropriate first cars.

LOL BMW M3, cease dreaming

You can't just think about the cost of the car, think about how you will be paying for the car maintenance, insurance, registration renewal, and whole lot of other codswallop.

I am surprised that at the early age, you already have 2000 dollars saved up, that is a great accomplishment.
My suggestion is to buy used car with low mileage. Also get a credible one like Honda or Toyota.
I know we want to drive branded cars but sometimes we have to think about their expenses also. BMW's and VOLKSWAGENS' parts are very priceless.
