Behold, the new, third-generation Audi A6 allroad quattro, the tougher variant of the more sensible but less versatile A6 Avant (estate). The A6 allroad quattro is an all-terrain beast with four V6 engine options - three diesels and a petrol - and four-level adaptive air suspension as standard.

Under the hood, you can choose from a 3.0-litre 306bhp, 324lb-ft TFSI, a 3.0-litre 201bhp, 332lb-ft TDI, a 3.0-litre 242bhp, 428lb-ft TDI and the big daddy, the 3.0-litre BiTDI with 309 horses and a stellar 479lb-ft of tremendous torque. There's plenty of efficiency to be had with all this power - fuel consumption is down around 20% on the last model and it's around 70kg lighter thanks to plenty of aluminium components.
